Terms of Service

Effective: May 22, 2026

These terms govern your use of Bone Wizardry (bonewizardry.com). By using the site or paying for a subscription, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

Important: this is study material, not medical advice. Bone Wizardry is an educational tool for medical students preparing for COMLEX Level 1 and USMLE Step 1. The content is for study purposes only.

Board prep content is, by nature, simplified and pattern-focused. It exists to help you recognize what boards test, not to replace medical education or clinical training.

1. Who we are

Bone Wizardry is an independently operated educational service based in Pennsylvania, USA. For these terms, "Bone Wizardry," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of bonewizardry.com. Our Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference and forms part of this agreement. Contact: [email protected].

2. Your account

3. Subscription, billing, and auto-renewal

Pricing and what's included

Bone Wizardry Pro is currently $7 per month, billed monthly. The current price and feature list are shown at bonewizardry.com/pricing. Prices are stated in US dollars and exclude any applicable sales, use, or value-added taxes, which will be added at checkout where required by law. We may change pricing in the future; existing subscribers will be notified by email at least 30 days before any price change takes effect on their account.

Express consent to auto-renewal

By clicking "Subscribe" (or any equivalent button), you provide your express affirmative consent to the following: your subscription automatically renews each month at the then-current monthly price until you cancel; you authorize Bone Wizardry, through Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel; and you acknowledge that no refunds are issued for the current or any prior billing period.

After you subscribe, we send you a confirmation email summarizing the auto-renewal terms, the renewal price, the renewal frequency, and how to cancel. Keep that email for your records.

How to cancel

You can cancel anytime from your account page at bonewizardry.com/manage. Cancellation is online and immediate. You will not be required to call, chat, speak to a representative, or complete any retention flow to cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you'll keep Pro access through that date. After cancellation, your subscription stops renewing and you won't be charged again. You'll receive a cancellation confirmation by email.

Refunds

All subscription payments are non-refundable. When you cancel, you keep access through the end of your current billing period, but we don't refund the current month's payment or any past payments. There are no prorated refunds. If you believe you were charged in error or experienced a billing issue, email [email protected] and we'll review it in good faith.

Failed payments

If your payment method fails, we'll attempt to retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected within 30 days, Pro access will be suspended. If payment cannot be collected within 90 days, your subscription may be canceled. Your account and study progress are preserved for at least 90 days after cancellation, after which they may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Consent records

Where required by law (including California's Automatic Renewal Law), we retain records of your consent to these auto-renewal terms for at least three years, or one year after your subscription ends, whichever is longer.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice. Serious violations may also be reported to your medical school, professional licensing authority, or law enforcement.

5. Intellectual property

All content on Bone Wizardry, including the Anki deck, Prescryption, interactive tools, illustrations, text, code, design, and brand elements, is owned by Bone Wizardry or licensed for use on the site. It's protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

Your subscription gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the content for your own studying. It does not transfer ownership of anything.

Third-party and open-licensed materials

Some pages include third-party images, diagrams, chemical structures, public-domain materials, Creative Commons materials, or other source materials that are used for educational context. Those materials remain governed by their original licenses, source terms, and attribution requirements. Where a page includes an image source manifest or credit link, that manifest is part of the attribution record for the page.

Bone Wizardry does not claim exclusive ownership of public-domain, CC0, Creative Commons, government, or other third-party materials merely because they appear on the site. Our account, paywall, anti-scraping, and redistribution rules apply to Bone Wizardry-owned content and to the assembled service. They do not take away rights that a third-party license gives you directly from the original source.

If you reuse third-party materials from Bone Wizardry, you are responsible for following the original license terms. This may include attribution, keeping license notices intact, linking the license, preserving ShareAlike terms for modified Creative Commons ShareAlike works, and avoiding any implication that the original creator, publisher, agency, or source endorses Bone Wizardry or your reuse.

Do not remove, obscure, or alter image credits, source manifests, license notices, or no-endorsement statements from Bone Wizardry pages.

If you submit corrections, topic requests, bug reports, or other feedback, you grant Bone Wizardry a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback to improve the site. You don't have to be attributed, and we won't publish your name or email unless you specifically ask us to.

6. Accuracy and updates

We work hard to keep content accurate and up to date, but medicine changes constantly and mistakes happen. Bone Wizardry makes no guarantee that any specific piece of content is current, complete, or correct. If you find an error, please send a correction to [email protected].

7. No guarantee of board outcomes

Bone Wizardry is a study tool. We don't guarantee that using it will result in passing COMLEX Level 1, USMLE Step 1, or any other examination. Board outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bone Wizardry disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, and uninterrupted service.

We don't warrant that the site will be free of errors, bugs, or interruptions, that defects will be corrected, or that the site or its servers are free of viruses or harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bone Wizardry, its operator, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these terms, your misuse of the service, your violation of any law, or your violation of any third-party right.

11. Termination

You can stop using the site and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, for non-payment, or if we discontinue the service. If we terminate without cause, we'll refund any prepaid amounts for periods after termination. If we terminate for cause (including violation of these terms), no refund is owed.

12. Changes to the service

We may change, add, or remove features at any time. We try to avoid removing features that subscribers rely on, but we reserve the right to do so. If a material feature is removed, we'll notify active subscribers by email.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to active subscribers at least 30 days before they take effect. Minor changes (typos, clarifications) may be made at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law, disputes, and class action waiver

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Before filing any legal action, you agree to first contact [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally must be brought in a state or federal court located in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. You consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

Class action waiver: To the fullest extent permitted by law, any dispute must be brought in your individual capacity. You waive any right to participate as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative action against Bone Wizardry. Nothing in this section limits your right to pursue claims in small-claims court where available.

15. Time limit for claims

Any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to these terms or the service must be filed within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action accrued, or it is permanently barred, except where a longer period is required by applicable law.

16. Force majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, internet or telecommunications outages, third-party service failures, hosting provider downtime, cyberattacks, acts of government, public health emergencies, war, or labor disruptions.

17. Export controls and sanctions

By using Bone Wizardry, you confirm that you are not located in, ordinarily resident in, or a national of any country subject to a comprehensive United States embargo, and that you are not listed on any United States government list of restricted or prohibited parties.

18. Communications

We provide account notices (receipts, password resets, billing alerts, terms changes) by email to the address associated with your account. These transactional emails are part of running your account and are not marketing.

We may also offer optional email updates about new content, site improvements, and study tips. These are always opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any update email. Unsubscribing from updates does not affect your account or transactional emails.

Notice is effective when sent. You agree to keep your account email current; we are not responsible for notices that fail because your address is outdated.

To send notice to us, email [email protected].
